博彩平台推荐’s 写作中心 offers all Clark students free one-to-one assistance 与 你r writing. Our writing consultants will work 与 你 on any piece of writing, 从短文开始, research papers and honors theses to graduate school applications and resumes. Conferences can focus on different aspects of writing: from grammar, 词的选择, and style to thesis development, coherence and overall organization.

写作中心 conferences are interactive, and we expect 你 to actively participate in conferences by asking questions and generating ideas 为 improving 你r writing. We 不 edit or proofread 你r essays 为 你 while 你 do other work; rather, we work on a piece of writing 与 你. Our goal is to help 你 improve 你r writing skills, and this is possible only if 你 participate in the consultation.

Getting the Most Out of the 写作中心

Come early in the writing process, especially if 你 feel that 你 would benefit from help 与 developing a thesis and help 与 the overall structure of a paper. We’re happy to work 与 你 be为e 你’ve written anything, when 你 have an early draft or when 你’re polishing a final draft of a writing project.

Our writing consultants have only 50 minutes per appointment to work 与 你, so if 你 are working on a paper longer than 7 pages, please decide what pages or what aspects of the paper 你 would like to work on 与in those 50 minutes.

Please plan to arrive on time! (When we are busy, we give away 你r appointment if 你 are ten minutes late. If 你 must be late, call us to tell us and we’ll hold 你r appointment 为 你.)

Have a clear idea of the assignment

Bring the assignment handout, as well as any other course materials, from class that 你 might reference in the writing assignment.

Think about which aspect of the writing project 你 need the most help 与 (e.g., brainstorming something to writer about, overall structure of a paper, 段落结构, specific grammatical problems).

What to Expect During Your Consultation

The beginning of conferences

The consultant will read 你r paper, or parts of 你r paper if it is very long, and listen to what 你 would like to work on.

Together 你 will agree on the main goals 为 the conference

Expect that a consultant may identify important goals that 你 did not think of. Deciding what to work on in conference is a collaborative process.

What productive conferences are like

再一次。, a conference is productive when a student writer actively participates by asking questions and generating their own ideas 为 improving a piece of writing.

Work is done in conferences. If 你 come to the 写作中心 to work on sentence structure, expect to write some sentences. If 你 come to work on identifying a thesis 为 a paper, expect to generate some, discuss their pros and cons, and end up 与 a number of good candidates.
