CBAA Mission Statement

The Black Alumni Association of Clark University seeks to affirm, enrich, and serve the Black experience at and beyond the University. 该组织的目标是支持该机构黑人校友的发展和成长. A hallmark of the group is to foster connections and networking across generations.

Stacey Lawrence ’08, M.A., Ph.D.
Co-Leader of CBAA and Liaison to Clark Alumni Council

Dr. Stacey Lawrence ’08, M.A., Ph.D. 她本科在博彩平台推荐学习生物化学和分子生物学. She is currently the Senior Associate Director for STEM Initiatives at The Harriet W. Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning at Brown University. In this role, she collaborates with STEM instructors to incorporate reflective, 将数据驱动的实践融入他们的教学中,以增加STEM教学和学习体验的公平性和包容性. Shawnasia Black ’08, MSPC ’09 is the Founder/Principal Designer of Asia B. Designs, LLC which is a design studio focused on residential design. 她目前是国际室内设计协会(纽约分会)的公平委员会联合主席。. As well as a Board Member for FIT Interior Design Advisory Board. Through these positions, she aims to bring more inclusion to the Architecture & Design industry.

Janette A. Johnna Plunkett Chappell '09

Johnna Plunkett-Chappell ’09, M.S.
Co-Leader of CBAA

Johnna graduated from Clark University in 2009. 她的本科学位是环境科学,主修地球系统科学.

She leads several initiatives for the agency (including but not limited to); environmental life cycle analysis/embodied carbon work, the agency’s fleet electrification planning, resource reduction implementation and waste mitigation programs. 在加入可持续性和弹性规划部之前,她曾在纽约市担任环境健康与安全专家10年. While at New York City Transit Johnna performed environmental protection and industrial hygiene work; conducting air quality testing, COVID-19 response efforts, HAZMAT team oversight, and performed environmental assessments for the company. Inez Williams-Gaye

Inez Williams-Gaye ’07
Co-Leader of CBAA

Inez was born and raised in the Worcester area, 2002年毕业于奥本高中,2007年毕业于博彩平台推荐,成绩为B.A. in Psychology & Sociology. She’s made a career in the events industry focusing on association & corporate events. Inez is on the board of directors for 2 Worcester-based organizations; the African Community Education (ACE) Program & Women in Development (WID).

Joanna da Cunha-Semedo

Joanna da Cunha-Semedo ’15, M.A. ’16
Co-Leader of CBAA

Joanna da Cunha-Semedo ’15, M.A. ’16, studied International Development and Social Change, earning her M.A. in Community Development and Planning. Her research project during her M.A. focused on disrupting Eurocentric education through a social justice curriculum. Throughout her time at Clark, Joanna was actively engaged in both the Worcester and Clark communities. She has devoted her life to making a positive impact on communities, with a particular emphasis on college access and navigation.
